Eden Project is a an amazing place where environmental concern meet education and art in hopes of inspiring people to be more aware of the world around them with hopes of working together for a better future.
Patty, Kristin, Stephanie and I went there, along with Alison and Robin on our first Sunday in England. To get there, we took an hour train ride, followed by a twenty minute bus ride into the project. round trip, including admission, was 23 pounds (about $26USD). We were near the St Austell station in Cornwall. The country side views on the way were beautiful. The trains were much nicer than I had expected. Even the upholstery seemed to be more intentionally select and "posh" compared to my expectations formed by experiences on american trains.
Once inside the rainforest biome, we explored the largest rainforest in captivity. Very impressive! Check out my picasa for more pictures! We also enjoyed exploring the Mediterranean Biome.
The Weather on Sunday was beautiful for the majority of the day. After our wonderful lunch, perhaps the best so far in the UK, it started to rain for a few hours but there was plenty inside another building to keep us busy. Art displays and educational stations as well as sculptures fulled the building they call The Core.
